Traditional open gynecologic surgery, using a large incision for access to the uterus and surrounding anatomy, has for many years been the standard approach to many gynecologic procedures. 

Robotic surgery are types of surgical procedures that are done using robotic systems, such as the da Vinci® Surgical System. Robotically assisted surgery was developed to try to overcome the limitations of pre-existing minimally invasive surgical procedures and to enhance the capabilities of surgeons performing open surgery.

These surgical procedures can significantly reduce pain, trauma and the recovery process for patients.
