Diagnosing Unexplained Infertility
According to the American Society of Reproductive medicine, 30% of couples that cannot conceive are diagnosed as unexplained infertility. Once a couple undergoes diagnostic infertility testing, and the cause cannot be identified, a couple is given the diagnosis of unexplained infertility.
Before diagnosing unexplained infertility a recommended assessment will be performed:
- Male Infertility- Semen Analysis
- Female Infertility
- Ovulation- Mid luteal progesterone, Ovulation predictor kit
- Ovarian Reserve- Transvaginal ultrasound, and HSG
- Uterus and Fallopian Tubes
TREATMENT OF UNEXPLAINED INFERTILITY
Once unexplained infertility is diagnosed it is recommended to consider Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART) in order to conceive. ART services include IUI Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF), intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI).
